I like the 50mm G ... I like the 50mm G since my? D3100 can control the focus... but my D isn't leaving anytime soon, either :)
Congrats on the 17- ... Congrats on the 17-55 order. It's a great? lens, but it's still fun to tear around with the 18-70 :)
My father has a D70 ... My father has a D70, though he doesn't use it anymore. I have his kit lens as it is, as you have stated, fantastic. When my ordered 17-55 arrives, in many situations it will be my main? lens, but not everything.
What about 50mm ... What about 50mm F1.8D ??
That's lens of choice for all serious videographers using DSLR's...
You kind of need aperture ring for better control to? achieve quality results.
I have a secret? ... I have a secret? crush on the 18-70! The D70 is an old camera... but the kit 18-70... fantastic!
@larrytxeast you ... @larrytxeast you wouldn't believe how many videos are made with 5Ds and how many accessories are currently available to produce cinema quality footage. DSLRs have brought? pro level production quality into hands of consumers. I think you want to think its a gimmick, but I think it's wonderful.
I have used several ... I have used several lenses with my D7000, including the 17-55 f/2.8 mentioned in the video. It was the best one I've used. The next best is? the Nikkor 18-70, but I set the depth of field enough so it does not have to focus during the shot. My copy of this lens has a very loud focus ring. If you use a mic, that helps get rid of the noise.
:D? :D?
I believe you. ... I believe you. Models like that seem better designed to do both reasonably well. By the way in terms of the "photographer or model" clip,? you do both well--you take great photos & you look GREAT in stills (and videos). You also sound very intelligent in your "gear talk" videos. Beauty & brains. In short, you ROCK.
The only camera ... The only camera I've owned that do both well is the Nikon V1, with? an honorable mention to the Powershot G series.
I'm not getting on ... I'm not getting on anybody, but I'm not keen on d-SLRs having video, not even with the shallow depth-of-field. I tend to think that when you? reach the d-SLR level (vs a point & shoot or a smartphone) a product does best when it focuses (pardon the pun) on 1 thing & nothing else, sort of like how the Mexican eatery down the road makes the best burritos because they don't also try & do Italian or burgers. Leave the swiss-army-knife stuff to the smartphones.
Cool video! I just? ... Cool video! I just? approved it as a response :)
Hey this is Adam i? ... Hey this is Adam i? made a vide responce check it out :)
17-55 2.8 is such ... 17-55 2.8 is such and awesome lens, I love it and the video? results aren't to bad!
Ok i sent the? ... Ok i sent the? pictur tell me what you think :D
Agreed. Many people ... Agreed. Many people don't get what they expected from? DSLR video, though, because they are accustomed to fully automatic camcorders.
Nikon V1 is a very ... Nikon V1 is a very decent Nikon "camcorder." I am transitioning to use it for all of my? videos.
Nikon does not ... Nikon does not produce video-specific? lenses.
Both are terrific. ... Both are terrific. 35mm is better in? low light.
:)? :)?
Check out the? top ... Check out the? top of my website for my email address
This really helped ... This really helped alot thank you so much :) i will try what you said and get back to you asap also i took a picture that i think you may really like werecan? i send it to you :) thank you so much again really helps
great? video btw.... great? video btw....
i have the 3100 ... i have the 3100 with a 35mm and a 18-105mm. which one should i use ? the 35mm? so it will b lighter and managable ? they both autofocus
There? are also ... There? are also lenses made specifically for video.
I definitely found ... I definitely found this out when I naively took out my DSLR to film while travelling, it only? really works when your camera is on a tripod but when I was filming a man making a cup of tea, it give you head ache to watch it going in and out of focus. Even though the shots look beautiful they go in and out of focus all the time. PS enjoyed your book looking forward to sequel!
And better low- ... And better low-light capabilities. Canon's expensive professional camcorders suck in low-light because of the small sensors they use. Sure, dedicated pro camcorders? have certain benefits like better audio controls and histograms, but those tiny sensors don't allow you to control your depth of field and just forget about shooting in low-light situations.
I'd much rather spend 5k on Canon's new 1DX, or Nikons D4.
When it comes to ... When it comes to shooting 1080p video you really don't have to worry about lens sharpness as just about any modern lens will be able to handle that resolution. If you go for a zoom lens, then I highly advise to get one with a constant aperture range throughout, or else when you zoom your exposure will drop. Also, get one with image stabilization as it comes really handy when shooting hand-held.
Though, I highly recommend prime? lenses over anything else, mainly for the faster aperture.
Great vid snapchick ... Great vid snapchick. I definitely agree. My d300s kept hunting focus so i always had to set it to manual. But one question is...why doesnt nikon have a line? of camcorders out? It would seem common sense by now. But if they have a camcorder line please provide a link. Thanks :)
more filmmakers on ... more filmmakers on youtube use DSLR's over Camcorders because of their more shallow depth of field.?
